Samsung gives every Samsung phone user a free 15GB storage space for its Samsung Cloud. You can either allow your Samsung device to automatically back your data up, or you can manually do it yourself. While 15GB may sound generous for some, people who regularly create videos and high resolution photos may find it not enough. If you are constantly getting the message that your Samsung Cloud is full, you can either manage it (by deleting some data) or disable it entirely. Either way should help you get rid of these annoying Cloud message. In this short tutorial, we’ll show you the easy steps to Disable Automatic Backup on Samsung Cloud. We hope you’ll find it useful.
Keep in mind that once you’ve created a Samsung account, you are automatically given a free Cloud access that you can use to back up these items:
- Calendar: Events and tasks saved on your phone
- Contacts: Contacts, email addresses and business cards saved on your phone or USIM
- Phone: Call and message history
- Clock: Alarms, world clocks, and timers
- Home screen: Layout, wallpapers, and Samsung DeX settings (your default wallpapers won’t be backed up)
- Apps: Installation files and app settings
- Settings: Accessibility settings, ringtones, Samsung Keyboard options, Wi-Fi settings, and Always on Display settings (your default ringtone won’t be backed up)
- Messages: Enhanced messages, multimedia messages, and text messages
- Music: Audio files (MP3, M4A, 3GA, OGG, and WAV files)
- Voice Recorder: Audio recordings
- Documents: DOC, PDF, TXT, and HTML files

Disable Automatic Backup on Samsung Cloud using your phone
The easiest way to disable automatic backup on Samsung Cloud is thru your phone. The steps are easy. Learn how to do that by following these steps:
- Open Settings app.
- Tap Accounts and backup.
- Select Samsung Cloud.
- Tap on three dots at upper right.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Sync and auto backup settings.
- Tap Auto back up.
- If you want to select items that you want to continue to back up, then leave its switch to ON. Otherwise, turn off the switch to OFF by moving it to the right. This should disable automatic backup for that item.
Once you’ve selected the item or items that you don’t want to back up automatically, the changes will take effect right away. Make sure that you have internet connection when doing the changes above. It may take some moments for Samsung to retrieve all data from the cloud. Just wait for it.
Keep in mind that turning off automatic backup won’t delete the existing data on your Samsung Cloud account. They will remain there until you decide to delete them manually.
How to access Samsung Cloud via PC
If your Samsung phone is not available and you want to manage your data on Samsung Cloud there’s an easy way to do that using a computer. Learn what to do by following these steps:
- On your computer, open a web browser.
- Go to Samsung Cloud sign-in page.
- Click on Sign in.
- Enter your Samsung credentials and sign in.
- The main page of your Samsung Cloud account should have the following items: Cloud Usage counter, Gallery, Other Synced Data, Samsung Cloud Drive, Device Backups and My Knox and Secure Folder. Depending on what you want to do, simply click on each of the items.
