Diablo 3’s Darkening of Tristram event is back. You can take on classic boss fights, and get cosmetic rewards. The dungeon is 16 floors long and filled with loot, demons, and other goodies. The dungeon is a recreation of the original acts in Diablo. While it is not the entire game, it’s a nice reward for loyal players. You can visit Tristram to meet many of the former bosses. The Darkening of Tristram is basically a long dungeon in which players must fight many bosses. Here’s how you can get there.
How do you play the Darkening of Tristram Event in Diablo 3
You will need Adventure Mode to access the dungeon. This mode can be unlocked if you complete the campaign on PC or some consoles. In adventure mode , head to the Oldruins waypoint in Act 1. Look for the blue portal marked Tristram as you head south from the waypointspawn. This will start the event.
The event’s main focus is the 16-floor Labyrinth. This dungeon contains all of the bosses and other areas from previous games. There are small areas in each zone that have hidden bosses and puzzles. This run has the most backtracking.
The Labyrinth has 15 levels that are simple, with levels 10-15 being bosses. You will be fine if you have a strong build that can deal with low-level Rifts. To reach the Unholy Altar, you will need to find two stones of Lazarus. You can interact with them. This will allow you to enter two fights with tons of enemies and a boss. These will open the door to Level 16 in the Lab. The next step is to fight your way through several switches that will spawn a large number of mobs. Each group must be defeated before you can activate the final switch. The Dark Lord will enter the room.
This event should be easy for any build that is decently equipped. It was easy to run on Expert with a newly-leveled 70 necromancer. Some of the older packs could have received more single-target damage. The Darkening of Tristram seems to be a good option for Corpse Explosion Necro. A good CC will lock the Dark Lord down. It is a good idea to have one. You should be able to nuke this event’s bosses as long as you have good single-target DPS (probably enough to easily defeat Maltheal).
During this event, you can also find Cultist pages. You can trade these in for certain rewards. To unlock the rewards, you must complete the Darkening of Tristram Dungeon and collect seven pages.
Even though there is not much loot from the mobs, there are still some things you can get from this event. You will find a few glowing blue rocks in the Labyrinth. Crack them to obtain a lot of Gems. This can be a great place to find Marquee Gems in large quantities if you are level 70. Paragon XP can also be obtained by interacting with mobs.
